KISS Safety Solutions Ltd was born out of the desire to provide cost effective health and safety support to New Zealand businesses to ensure a safer environment for all.

The Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 (HSWA) came into force on 4th April 2016 and brought with it some new terminology:

  • PCBU - Person Conducting a Business of Undertaking

  • OFFICER - A senior person (i.e. Director) within the business that has significant influence over the management of that business or undertaking.

  • WORKER - A person who carried out work for the business and can be an employee, a contractor/sub-contractor, employee of a labour hire company, an apprentice or trainee, someone undertaking work experience or a volunteer worker.

  • OTHERS - People other than workers that may come into the workplace, for example members of the public, customers and casual volunteers (excludes those persons not invited such as trespassers)

The main focus of HSWA is the Management of Risk and for some business this will mean significant change from what they have been doing up to now. For others it may require minor changes to their existing systems.

Whatever it means to you and your business we are here to support you along the way.

We do not believe in a generic, one size fits all approach.

We will work with you to ensure you have a bespoke Health and Safety Management System that reflects what your business actually does.
